Coquet has come up with a very unique idea as the basis for this book. He is merging gemology with ancient teachings on the aspects of the soul. Most modern teaching on these soul aspects comes from Theosophy (where they are known as the Seven Rays) and, in particular, from the writings of Alice Bailey. It is a highly complex, esoteric teaching which has traditionally been daunting to most readers. Coquet (who rounds out Bailey’s ideas with teachings from sources like ancient Hinduism, Hildegard von Bingen, and Hermeticism) has managed to communicate the information in a way that makes it much more accessible than it has been to date. It is a gift to serious students and interested beginners alike.
The book is well organized and dense with information about both the ancient wisdom teachings and gemstones. It is a reference that you will want to come back to again and again. Learn about the devas/angels who energize the mineral kingdom, the exoteric and esoteric colors of gemstones, astrological correspondences, the use of sacred stones in the world’s major religions, the healing properties of gemstones, the spiritual powers of gemstones, and — perhaps most helpful to many of us — acceptable, less expensive substitutes for these precious gems. Whether you are researching gems for use in spiritual practice, or just want to make more “informed” jewelry choices, this book has much to offer from a very knowledgeable author. Kudos, also, to Jon Graham for his excellent translation. SHOP FOR THE BOOK
