Self Empowerment Through Self Hypnosis

Self Empowerment through Self Hypnosis: Harnessing the Enormous Potential of the Mind
Carl Llewellyn Weschcke & Joe H. Slate
$15.95 (P), ISBN 978-0-7387-1928-3
Llewellyn Publications

This is a natural follow-up to Weschcke and Slate’s first book, Psychic Empowerment for Everyone. This time, the authors narrow their focus to outline specific techniques for accessing the Collective Unconscious and creating change.

The book begins with an excellent introduction by Weschcke in which he discusses different aspects of consciousness, awareness, and trance states and their implications for the New Age. The Glossary and Suggested Readings at the end of the book is a valuable resource in and of itself. In between these sections, is a clear and thorough treatise on hypnosis/self-hypnosis. The history and development of hypnosis, sleep and dreams, key steps in the induction process, the “I am” principle, astral gateways, and psychic self-defense are all covered. There are sample self-hypnosis scripts and techniques for applying self-hypnosis to specific goals. There is a whole chapter devoted to objective versus subjective experience. The ultimate goal is to give readers the tools to change their lives and to begin to grow into the powerful spiritual beings we are all meant to be.
